I enjoyed this book, and I normally don't read a lot of British humor as a Southern chick. :) There were laughter and tears throughout, so the author has done a good job of developing the characters so that you care. Funny stuff!Product details

The Feeding of Oliver Smith Part 2 Double Trouble K Bartholomew Books Reviews
I am Oliver Smith, the poster boy for The Feeding of Oliver Smith. Mr Bartholomew sent me a copy of the book a couple of days ago as I explained I couldn't afford to buy a copy and as soon as I started reading it, I was laughing my head off from start to finish.
I would like to take this opportunity to explain even though my name and other real life names are used in the story, please bear in mind that this book is fictional and only certain aspects of my personality are like the character Food as portrayed in the story.
Food is best described best as a Walter Mitty character who has madcap ideas and beliefs which he thinks will change his life for the better.
Food also thinks that the government are after him and he also has an obsession with the unexplained but keeps his opinions to himself in case the government are tracking him.
In real life I do like the unexplained like UFO's and crop circles but often air my opinions to friends.
This story is comedies version of Fifty Shades without the bondage. Buy it now as it will make you cry with laughter, I nearly wet myself laughing.
I will keep checking back on this page as I would love to read your reviews.
I'm a member of the Facebook group and bought this book at launch and i'm glad i did, it is very funny. Right from the beginning you are in stitches and the jokes come thick and fast.
You can't help but feel sorry for the main character Food, after all, everybody knows a guy like this, who has no luck, whose friends keep him down, but does himself no favors. You really do end up routing for him, although with a little caution. I hope things go better for him in the second book, this could be addictive.
Although the story was very funny, i still think it could have benefited with beginning the main plot a little earlier, but it's still worth the wait when you get there. I read the last two chapters three times, they were that funny.
I'm always on the look out for something a little bit different and this certainly seemed to fit the bill. As others have said, it really does have some very funny moments but the author always manages to avoid getting a laugh at the expensive of developing the story and the unusual here, Food.
For me, the real joy of the book was this central character. Hero? Anti-hero? I'm not really sure, but he certaily kept me turning the pages. Whether it is with his ex-wife or his flatmate, no oone seems to want to make life easy for Food.
Overall, an enjoyable read, and different enough from so many other books I have read recently to make it difficult to put in a category. Give it a try, you won't be disppointed.
